VR training simulator for chemical injection operations
Edvirt® has together with DSI Underground developed the simulator (CI Simulator) to train operators that currently conduct injection work or will commence in production. The virtual reality simulator teaches operators how to perform different types of injection work, such as water sealing, ground stabilization, or gap-filling in soft rock. Chemical injection is widely used worldwide in the construction, tunneling, and mining industries. Getting the job right is vital to secure the intended construction’s safety and long-term durability.
Operators learn to carry out multiple application scenarios without needing to be in dangerous environments such as mines, tunnels, or construction sites. This means they can safely undergo intensive training without on-site equipment or products. It also offers companies cost-effective access to training without compromising safety.
Training scenarios are divided into six categories to ensure that operators learn the core of chemical injection works:
– Safety introduction and startup procedure
– Water sealing in an underground tunnel
– Ground consolidation in road works
– Void filling in soft rock
– Shutdown procedure
– Final test on successful training completion, operators are awarded a certificate of achievement.
The simulator is offered by Edvirt® and DSI Underground through training courses and simulator rentals.
